16 Million Ether Have Been Staked Into Beacon Chain Staking Contract

As of January 13, 2023, 16,014,487 Ether have been staked, after Ethereum blockchain upgraded to proof-of-stake. Ether that have been staked, value $22.561 billion. The role of stakers and validators are to approve blockchain transactions and earn interests. They cannot withdraw ETH until Shanghai upgrade is launch. It is expected to be launch in March 2023.
