Cosmos community voted against the proposal to reduce ATOM inflation to 0%

Cosmos developers organized a vote to reduce ATOM inflation to 0%. The vote took place between Jan 9 and Jan 23, 2024. The vote was proposed by StakeLab.

If majority of ATOM token holders vote yes, ATOM’s inflation rate will be decreased to 0%.

ATOM’s inflation rate is currently capped at 10%. ATOM 10% inflation rate has been used since November 2023. Current staking yield of ATOM is 13.4%.

Proposal to decrease ATOM’s inflation to 0% was rejected. Most of Cosmos’ validators and token holders voted against the proposal.

48.6% vote no (77,287,838 ATOM).

25.1% vote yes (39,903,750 ATOM).

25.9% abstain (41,196,314 ATOM).

0.4% veto (580,026 ATOM).
