EigenLayer restaking platform, allowing
users to redeploy their staked ETH or Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) to secure
additional services and applications within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Users can restake their ETH or LSTs to
provide security for various Actively Validated Services (AVSs), such as data
availability layers, decentralized sequencers, and oracles.
EigenLayer announced on November 4,
2024 that it is expanding its restaking option to include wrapped Bitcoin (BTC)
yield and payouts from node operator P2P.org. This move is aimed at providing
more opportunities for BTC holders to earn rewards.
Additionally, ARPA Network, which is
built on EigenLayer, will start paying rewards to depositors of uniBTC, a
restaked BTC wrapper. This opens up new liquidity pathways and reward
opportunities for BTC holders.
P2P.org, a prominent node operator
within the EigenLayer ecosystem, has also announced the opening of claims for
its EigenLayer Season 2 operator's allocation share, amounting to $2.2 million.
This distribution program aims to reward eligible participants within the
restaking community.
