Elon Musk told Ted Cruz about Magic Money Computer in an interview on
Senator Ted Cruz’s Verdict podcast.
He said the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has found 14
such "Magic Money Computers." These computers send out trillions of
dollars, with about 5-10% of the payments going unreported.
Elon Musk said he found out 14 Magic Money Computers that can send
money out of nothing.
“You might think all government computers are connected and keep
track of funds properly,” Musk said. “But they don’t.”
DOGE has found these computers in the Treasury Department, State
Department, Health and Human Services, and the Defense Department.
Elon Musk called the Magic Money Computer, it’s a computer that makes money out of thin air. That’s magic money. These computers, mostly at the Treasury and some at HHS. There is one or two at the State. There’s some at DOD.
Musk says the government’s system makes it hard to track payments,
fix accounting issues, and stop fraud. Instead of checking the computers
directly, officials rely on a slow chain of people and contractors.
“The only way to find waste and fraud is to look at the computers
and see what’s happening,” Musk said. “That’s what I mean when I talk about
‘reprogramming The Matrix’—we have to fix the system at the computer level.”
