The FTX bankruptcy estate is auctioning off approximately 22 million Worldcoin (WLD) tokens, valued at around $36 million.

This auction is part of FTX’s efforts to recover funds for creditors following its collapse in 2022. The auction is set to conclude on October 3, 2024.

Bidders are required to have a minimum bid of $2.5 million to qualify for the auction. They need to submit their offers by 8 PM ET on Wednesday.

The tokens being auctioned are locked and will start unlocking at a rate of 20,000 tokens per day beginning December 1, 2024. This unlocking schedule will continue until 2028.

The auction has attracted interest due to the potential for purchasing the tokens at a steep discount, possibly up to 75% off the current market price.
