Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on November 14, 2024 revealed that
Goldman Sachs invested about $718 million in 8 Bitcoin ETFs.
This represents a significant increase
from their June 30, 2024, holdings of $418.65 million. Goldman Sachs began to
invest in the spot Bitcoin ETFs in Q2, 2024.
The bank's largest investment is in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT),
with a stake valued at $461 million. Other notable holdings include $96 million
in Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), $72 million in the Grayscale
Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC), and $60 million in the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF
(BTCO).
This investment underscores
growing institutions’ engagement with cryptocurrency assets.
