The XRP Ledger is now integrated with
MetaMask, allowing its 30 million monthly active users to access the XRP Ledger
with just one click. This integration, known as XRPL Snap, enables users to
manage their XRP assets and interact with XRP-based decentralized applications
(dApps) seamlessly within the MetaMask interface.
Peersyst, a Ripple developer and partner that developed XRP Ledger and its EVM sidechain and bridge solution for XRP Ledger, announced
the launch of XRP Ledger Snap on October 21, 2024, a new feature that allows MetaMask users to
manage and interact with XRPL-based assets directly through their wallets.
This integration means MetaMask’s 30
million monthly users can now use their wallets to manage XRP and other tokens
on the XRPL, conduct transactions, and access decentralized applications
(dApps) built on XRPL without needing to leave the MetaMask.
The XRP Ledger Snap also includes tools
for developers to integrate XRPL transactions into their dApps easily.
MetaMask Snaps, a system that extends
the functionality of the MetaMask wallet through modular plugins, allows for
this expanded use case beyond MetaMask’s core Ethereum-based services. Users
can now manage trustlines, tokens, and more on the XRPL Mainnet and Testnet
with the included web wallet and onramp services.
The XRPL Snap is live and available
now, presenting a major opportunity for XRPL adoption within the most
widely-used crypto wallet globally. Developers and users can access the new
feature at snap.xrplevm.org.
