Optimism has launched its fifth
airdrop, distributing 10.3 million OP tokens to over 54,700 user addresses1.
This airdrop is valued at about $16 million and rewards users who have
actively contributed to the growth of the Superchain Ecosystem1. The Superchain
is an interconnected ecosystem of blockchains built using the OP Stack
technology. Recipients have until February 13, 2025, to claim their
tokens.
The Optimism network on October 9,
2024, has conducted its fifth airdrop, distributing 10.3 million OP tokens to
over 54,700 addresses. This event is part of Optimism's ongoing efforts to
reward users who actively contribute to the growth of its Superchain Ecosystem.
The airdrop targeted users who
interacted with a variety of contracts on the network between March 15 and
September 15, 2024. To be eligible, users had to engage with at least 20 unique
contracts and maintain a contracts-to-transactions ratio of at least 10% during
the eligibility period from Mar 15, 2024, to Sep 15, 2024.
Those who met the criteria have until February 13, 2025, to claim their tokens. This initiative not only incentivizes participation within the ecosystem but also helps to scale Ethereum by supporting the interconnected blockchains that comprise the Superchain including addresses that made App transactions on OP Mainnet, Base, Zora, Mode, Metal, Fraxtal, Cyber, Mint, Swan, Redstone, Lisk, Derive, BOB, Xterio, Polynomial, Race, and Orderly between 2024-03-15 00:00:00 UTC and 2024-09-15 00:00:00 UTC were considered for this airdrop. The airdrop allocated 10,368,678 OP to 54,723 unique addresses.
