Ripple announces the appointment of a new President. Monica Long, General
Manager and Senior Vice President of Marketing has been promoted to President.
She has been working at Ripple since 2013, since there were only 10 employees. She is one of the driving forces behind the company’s success. She
has been working to build infrastructure, tools, and services that support the
creation of XRP Ledger to enable the exchange of value through the internet.

XRP was launched in 2012 by Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb. Jed
McCaleb regularly sells XRP. It is said that he used to hold 9% of XRP supply
and currently he sold the last XRP he held. Ripple aims to create a
decentralized protocol for international payment. It developed RippleNet
that enable international payment process to be done in 3-5 seconds, instead of
3-5 day in traditional method. XRP is the sixth most valuable cryptocurrency by market cap. XRP max supply is 100 billion and it has average transaction speed of 4 seconds.
