Space ID, a digital identity firm announced
on October 21, 2023 that SPACE ID domains are now available in MetaMask, a
leading crypto wallet provider.
The groundbreaking integration aimed at
streamlining crypto transactions and wallet management.
The new collaboration allows users to
register a Space ID domain name and link it to all their crypto public
addresses, making sending and receiving digital assets simpler and safer.
With the integration, users can now
replace complex 42-character wallet addresses with customizable,
easy-to-remember domain names when using MetaMask.
This development eliminates the risk of
errors that could result in lost funds. Instead of dealing with long strings of
letters and numbers, users will only need to input a simple username to
complete crypto transactions.
Space ID, known for its Web3 domain and
identity services, has previously gained attention for its domain-based
transfer solutions across various platforms. Binance Labs led Space ID’s seed
round in 2022.
The MetaMask-Space ID integration
enhances cross-chain compatibility, supporting Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain,
and other EVM-compatible blockchains.
This integration of Space ID with
MetaMask is expected to simplify crypto operations for users of all experience
levels by offering a unified solution for managing crypto addresses across
multiple chains.
To promote the new service, Space ID
has also launched a reward campaign, offering early adopters the chance to win
gift cards and share in a prize pool of $13,500.
This integration marks another step in
MetaMask’s ongoing efforts to improve the user experience. Earlier this year,
MetaMask's parent company ConsenSys acquired Wallet Guard, a crypto security
app, to bolster wallet security.
As MetaMask and Space ID continue to
innovate, this partnership paves the way for more user-friendly solutions in
the decentralized space.
