On Jan 6, 2025, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, liquidated around $2.5 million worth of meme coins such as CULT, DOGE, SHIB, and others.

He converted these into USDC and ETH, and donated the proceeds to his biotech charity, Kanro, which focuses on advancing biotechnology research and other philanthropic causes.
