Vitalik donated free Moo Deng memecoin worth $182,000 to charity

Vitalik Buterin donated $182,000 worth of ETH converted from memecoin Moo Deng to biotechnology charity Kanro. (He obtained the memecoin for free by someone transferring it to him)

Buterin said any memecoin sent to him would be donated to charity. And he added that users should send these tokens directly to charity or create a DAO to give people more say in deciding where their money is spent.

“I've said before that I think the best thing for memecoins is if they can be maximally positive-sum for the world, so it's great to see moments when that actually happens!” Vitalik wrote on X.
