  • Matter Labs will launch a public testnet for an Ethereum scaling prototype called " Pathfinder" in Q1 2023.
  • Guess this is the first one of layer 3 which is built on top of Ethereum.

Matter Labs, which developed a hit token like Ethereum behind ZkSync will launch a public testnet for an Ethereum scaling prototype called " Pathfinder" in Q1 2023.  It seems this is the first one in layer 3 which is built on top of Ethereum.

zkSync Chief Product Officer Steve Newcomb told The Block.  about this case that

“Pathfinder represents a special moment for Ethereum. Not one that’s only experienced by the few, but one where we get to see history being made together as an ecosystem on a public testnet,”

ZkSync's Layer 3 in the next session will increase more effectiveness of Layer 2 which aims to grow by leaps and bounds to scaling prototypes, according to Newcomb told. So, allowing to transaction process will lower the cost. One thing interesting, the Inc. hopes to launch its testing environment for the Layer 3 network Pathfinder - which hopes to gain more benefits for Ethereum's holders in the future.

The first Pathfinder's Processing will open in testing to publicly experiment, research, and participate in order to develop this new scaling prototype.

“For us on the engineering team, Pathfinder gives us the ability to really understand the shape these systems are likely to take in the future and to tackle some of the hardest problems early on. We believe that when it comes to engineering complex systems the best way to make progress is to aggressively build, test, and iterate with feedback from the real world,”

zkSync Head of Engineering Anthony Rose told The Block.
To launch HyperBridges

In addition, another benefit of the Layer 3 network, Newcomb said, is that they are able to use Native Bridging (or " Native Bridges") between blockchains.

HyperBridges will solve the pain point of the industry as more values of dollars have been stolen through non-native bridges between Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchains in the past. When users want to move their tokens from one blockchain to another, they didn't lock or give their tokens to a third-party " escrow" bridging service. HyperBridges will replace non-native bridges- which will build a 10X impact on security and have more potential to increase trust in the crypto community.
