On June 8, 2024, the Arbitrum DAO voted to approve $215 million gaming proposed by Arbitrum Foundation aimed at developing the gaming ecosystem on its Ethereum Layer 2 network.

This initiative, known as the Gaming Catalyst Program, plans to distribute 225 million ARB tokens over a period of 3 years to support game developers.

The proposal received strong community support, with over 75% of the votes in favor.

It’s designed to attract both new and established game developers, with emerging developers eligible for up to $500,000 worth of ARB tokens.

This strategic investment is expected to boost engagement and growth within the gaming sector on Arbitrum’s platform.

A dedicated team will manage the program daily, ensuring that it aligns with its objectives and maintains accountability.

The council overseeing the program includes experts in gaming, venture capital, data analysis, and DAO governance.

This move by Arbitrum is a clear indication of its policy to grow blockchain-based gaming.
