Offchain Labs, the developer of Arbitrum announced it will be airdropping ARB tokens to the Arbitrum’s community. Arbitrum is a layer 2 blockchain that help Ethereum scale. It is the three most popular layer 2 blockchains besides Polygon and Optimism. ARB tokens from Arbitrum are governance tokens that allow the community to vote on issues related to Arbitrum layer 2 scaling solution. Arbitrum aims to create Arbitrum DAO to create decentralization.
Users who will receive the airdrops
will determine by how many transactions, how many applications, and how long
they have been using Arbitrum. Users can check eligibility to claim ARB tokens
at arbitrum.foundation. 12.75% of total tokens or
1.162 billion ARB will be allocated to the community on March 23, 2023.
