Former Assistant U.S. Attorney and partner at Andreesen-Horowitz, Kathryn Haun, has made the decision to step down from her position on Coinbase's board after dedicating seven years of service.
In a statement posted on X, Haun Expressed her confidence in Coinbase's potential for success, but acknowledged the rapid growth of the crypto industry.
As a result, she plans to focus on venture investing through her company, Haun Ventures.
Haun's departure received praise from various members of the crypto community and Coinbase staff, including CEO Brian Armstrong, who described her as a "force of nature" and credited her for taking a risk on Coinbase and contributing to its journey towards going public.
Her resignation will officially take effect at Coinbase's Annual Meeting of Shareholders, which is expected to occur later this summer.
The board anticipates a reduction in size, with the departure of Haun, one of the two women currently serving as board directors, bringing the total number of directors down to seven.
