On June 17, 2024, the NFT project Doodles announced that it will migrate its avatar and character customization platform, Stoodio, from the Flow blockchain to Coinbase’s Base network, which is an Ethereum Layer-2
scaling solution.
This strategic move is planned for
mid-July 2024 and aims to leverage Base’s capabilities for cheaper and faster
transactions compared to the Ethereum mainnet.
The decision to migrate to Base was not
due to any issues with Flow, but rather a vision for the future and the desire
to be where there’s the highest chance for mass adoption.
The original Doodles profile picture
(PFP) collection will remain on Ethereum, while Stoodio and the various NFT
wearables and character customizations will transition to Base.
This migration aligns with Doodles’
goal of expanding its reach and boosting engagement levels, as well as
providing a more rewarding experience for its core user base.
The move is also in preparation for
future projects, including the release of Doodles’ new animated short film,
“Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” set to debut in September.
Doodles is a next-generation
entertainment company focused on immersive storytelling through the creation
and distribution of live and digital experiences, original content, and
lifestyle products.
Noodles NFTs is one of the most
successful NFT collection. It currently has a market cap of 12,997 ETH
($44,833,480).
The Doodles NFT collection features
line-drawn characters distinguished by their range of pastel colors, simplistic
cartoon figures, and various traits.
Each Doodle is a one-of-a-kind
combination of traits, such as hairstyle, type of mouth, and eyes, making each
one different from all others.
The project is community-based and
built on the Ethereum blockchain.
